At Kitayama Park in Tairamachi, Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, the trees around the pond are changing colors, pleasing the eyes of people walking around.

Maples and ginkgo trees are planted around the new pond, which is about 1.2 kilometers in circumference. Along with the oaks and sawtooth oaks of the mountains surrounding the park, the red and yellow leaves are reflected on the surface of the water.

Hiroyuki Kojima (65), unemployed from the city, said, "The contrast between yellow and red is beautiful. When I look at it, I feel relaxed and energized."

According to the park management office, the leaves will begin to change colors around the 5th, and the leaves will gradually turn red.
